Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Darin Mastroianni will undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair a bone chip on his left ankle, and will be sidelined for at least six weeks. It was a very discouraging sign when Mastroianni, who was already progressing slowly in his recovery, was uncomfortable testing his ankle during light sprints on Wednesday. He shouldn't be expected to return to the Twins until after the All-Star break and can safely be dropped in deeper mixed formats. Source: Tyler Mason on Twitte What a bummer for Mastro... It was a slim chance but... This was his chance... I feel real bad for him.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Has anyone ever had Cheerwine? It's a North Caroline made regional soda. There is this exotic Soda Shop in Sabin Minnesota that sells sodas made from everywhere at 2 bucks a bottle. This Cheerwine is fantastic.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I saw flashes of Butera time on that foul tip.

Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Anybody else nervous when Arcia goes after a pop fly? A couple weeks ago in a game thread I said that Arcia may very well be the LH version of D. Young. Edit: So no.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I saw flashes of Butera time on that foul tip. I was walking through the woods once alone and I badly sprained my ankle... I slowly limped along and passed by a den of bear cubs... Out of the corner of my eye... I saw the mother bear starting to sprint right at me. At that very moment... I had a thought that scared me... It was the thought of Butera being called upI apologize... I wish Drew Butera well and consider him one of us.

IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Now that's what I call Teflon pitching - nothing is sticking against him.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 A couple weeks ago in a game thread I said that Arcia may very well be the LH version of D. Young. Does this include binge drinking and antisemitism?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 OMG yes. Last time I had it was as a teen. Cheerwine and feeling fine! They should expand... Maybe a good marketing campaign could get it done... They could hire the marketing firm that came up with the Hamsters in a Kia campaign.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 That was a nice turn. I haven't watched a many games lately, but Florimon and Dozier seem to be settling in and providing competent defense.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Does this include binge drinking and antisemitism? The answer to that is forthcoming.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 The answer to that is forthcoming. Makes me nervous for the first roadtrip to New York...
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 They should expand... Maybe a good marketing campaign could get it done... They could hire the marketing firm that came up with the Hamsters in a Kia campaign. Again, and I'm truly sorry for this, but I'm no help.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Makes me nervous for the first roadtrip to New York... Culture shock.

Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Does Buchholtz run crisco through his hair?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I looked it up - that campaign actually won an award for its effectiveness. Yeah well... In response to that... I'd like to mention that Bobby McFerrin won 3 Grammy's in 1989 for "Don't worry be Happy" and may have inspired a singing fake fish for people to make others listen to and watch.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Does Buchholtz run crisco through his hair? Not sure... I came up with 9 other possibilities earlier.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Parmelee would have had that ball hit by Parmelee.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Whatever it is, that hair is disgusting. Nice hit Parm

I'd like to mention that Bobby McFerrin won 3 Grammy's in 1989 for "Don't worry be Happy" and may have inspired a singing fake fish for people to make others listen to and watch. He worked for the Twins front office, didn't he?
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Not sure... I came up with 9 other possibilities earlier. I'm just a big bowl of no help with you tonight. I did go back, and there it be, in all its glory. Good list. Definately looks heavier than water or sweat, and I don't think it's brill cream. Got to be a teaspoon of lard or something similar.

See you are helping just fine... We make a good team...
