glunn Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 The little things, oh the little things. At least it was not Plouffe.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 WTF? Sometimes I hate this team. The on-line PBP leaves a bit to be desired on this one - what happened, Mauer started to head for home and then turned back, and Hammer with his blazing speed was already two-thirds of the way to third?

Yeah, that's exactly what happened. The throw was off too, Mauer would have probably scored.
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Plouffe up with 2 out now. If they only end up with 1 run in this inning I blame Plouffe's blithering idiocy.

Late stop sign by Vavra, but Willingham didn't appear to even look at him. I thought Mauer could have scored. Throw was a bit up the 1st base line. It would have taken a perfect throw to get him.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Yeah, that's exactly what happened. All except for the blazing speed.
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 So maybe no one is to blame? Ullger? Doumit's worthless pitch framing? There's always blame to pass around.

Do not overlook Arcia's alarming lack of clutchness in the on-deck circle. They lost a game about a week ago with him swinging the bat feebly while on-deck in the ninth. I see he managed to make it to the batter's box this time. Progress.

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Damn. At work, our management is always telling us to do more with less. Twins seem to have that one backwards.
Reginald Maudling's Shin Provisional Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Arcia looked overmatched in that AB. Had no clue what was coming.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I was hoping to be able to go pick up breakfast, but will not do that unless the Twins are up by at least 4. My dog is pacing the room, which is stopping the Indians from scoring.
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I'm sure this will be Pelfrey's last start as a Twin. 6 K's in one game? Unacceptable, far too many fielders standing around getting paid to do nothing.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 bases loaded, no outs, followed by a base hit to the outfield...1 run. Twins baseball™ [/premature snarkasm] ftfy

Only 91 pitches, so it's not an automatic shower just on that basis.

glunn Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Make that 7 K's. Pelf could turn out to be a great buy, if he can pull it together and be consistent. Now lets get runs so I can get some food.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Mine is flat on her back on the couch, not doing a damn thing to help the cause. Maybe that is her rally strategy. Has it worked in the past?
