Does Gardy tempt fate by sending him out for the 7th? Only 91 pitches, so it's not an automatic shower just on that basis.

90 is the new 100.

Willingham atones for his earlier baserunning blunder by not getting on base this time.

Perkins hadn't had a lot of work in the past couple of weeks, and the previous two innings of "let's get him into a game" weren't exactly lights out. I was hoping today's game would prove them to be just momentary blips. Of course, three games is still Small Sample Size, but I can't help wondering.

In other news...if you are into hockey fights, check out the Wild game. It looks like it could blow at any moment.

This was an enjoyable game with some really good signs. First off, Plouffe put a good swing on one and gave us a lead. Pelfrey, I've figured, would be our best pitcher the second half, and he stepped up today very nicely. I didn't expect that so soon. That was a treat, and good confidence for him. Hit 95 a few times. And then there's Mauer's slump. What do you different? Well, I'd tell him to hit some of that meat that's served on the first pitch. After his initial strikeout, he came up every time after ready to take a hack on pitch number one. He keeps that up and he'll break out quickly.

And, I've got to mention I really like watching Jamie Carroll play baseball.

Hear here! on Carroll and his elfin goodness. True professional, glad to see he's getting some regular PAs.

Glad to see you've come around on Plouffe, Halsey; he's a far better player than he was just one year ago to the day, when he was batting, get ready for this:

We'll probably never see another player with an OPS this low this far into a season.
