When I was on my way to work I heard that the first pitch was a ball on the outside. I thought "Doumit didn't frame that one very well".

Being serious, it would be nice to see what pitchers are getting the calls so you could see if it was a patteren. Are Davis and Shields getting less calls in KC comes to mind as pitchers who should have a change in called strike rates if pitch framing is the sole determinant of if a ball is called a strike.

He makes an offhand comment about Liriano and Mauer regarding the low strike. It'd be interesting to see a Liriano breakdown by catcher to see if his "control" was better with Sweet Drew behind the dish.

In one of the articles, Lindbergh suggests that Molina would have more impact on sinker ball pitchers pointing to Hernandez this year on the Rays.

 

Molina has played on enough teams to compare pitchers. Ricky Romero comes to mind.
