Rocco, in his infinite wisdom, appears about to strike again.

Sigh!

And now it's happening.

Verlander is 15-3 with a 1.73 ERA

old school pitcher with old school stats

I for one am particularly found of that 15th win.

At this point, imo, you save the better pitchers for tomorrow and the next day.... Do you really want one of the good pitchers in at this point?

Duffey for Assignment?

I wouldn't object to that.

BTW, who's the closer in St. Paul?  Hard to imagine he's any worse than some of what we're seeing here.

The available relievers are almost certainly chosen prior to the game.

Yes, it would be nice to see the Twins take advantage, but I’m afraid their bullpen has the 8th inning blues again

It’s unfortunate that there’s such a talent chasm from Duran/Lopez/fulmer to everyone else. If we even had one or two merely mediocre guys that would be a big help. But all these other guys like pagan and co are just so not good.

There’s no closer in AAA. The best relievers tend to get transferred on and off of the MLB club.

Maybe, on the plus side, this is the end for a certain pitcher..... Though I doubt it.

You’ll have to be a lot more specific. Could be any of the guys we saw tonight

I remain skeptical regarding Baldelli’s in-game management skills…still, he’s can’t go with the 4 “A” bullpen arms every game off a 5-inning start. The offense has to go out and win their share, and a started has to occasionally own a game. And both those events continue to be way too scarce

RBI hits. Is that even legal?

Also....as Duffey falls behind 2-0, the disgust creeps into even Provus' voice.

I think at some point you’ve got to try a few other people from in house

how much worse could it honestly be at this point

Can we be done with Rocco after this season?  I can't imagine a worse in-game manager with the bizarre shifts and horrible pitching moves.
