I completely agree with that.  Which is why I think the Twins should give up whatever they have to in order to get Montas or Castillo or both at the deadline.  Given that they were both developed by other organizations, they would immediately become the best starters the Twins have.  If they're not willing to do that, they might as well sell at the deadline because they're not going anywhere.

Do you really think that one more starting pitcher changes the situation? To me it seems like either two starters (with current starters going to pen) or one starter and two good relievers would be the minimum to make this team "good." And that would probably cost all of our prospects.

That's why I'm favoring slogging through the rest of the year with minor (cheap) alterations and see what we can do in the off-season. Maybe we'll have better luck with health next year, unless it's the Twins training routine that has sent half of its pitchers to the hospital. In the latter case, I can't see any hope without changing how we treat pitchers.

now officially down to a 2 game lead with over 60 games left. I wouldn’t be surprised if we finish 5-10 games back of one or both Chicago and Cleveland. The pitching is that bad. No trades for anyone who can’t help beyond this year. I don’t think the twins system is so stacked with prospects that we can just ship out the few good ones we have, is it?

Archers Strike percentage this year is 59.9%

For comparison Corbin Burnes strike percentage is 62.9%

Kinda funny to see someone trying to compare Burnes to Archer, no matter what the stat you pull out.  Good grief.

Why would you assume the Twins do anything different than any other team does? I would think most/all teams training programs are very similar. If you read MLBTR or check injury reports, the Twins are pretty much in line with the other MLB teams.

I absolutely agree with your last sentence.  It's time to start building the 2023 Twins.

sadly i think you're right. in think it's fun baseball when he hits well and launches some bombs but overall i don't know if i can get onboard long term. he's a great player however, the end game may not justify the means by which they got there. or get to wherever.

Sano is infectious.
