Would you rather be 3 runs down

Of course not.  I was being sarcastic.

It's not the control or the command, per se.  It's the number of uncompetitive pitches, that tilt the odds to the batter over the course of a game.

Just leave Archer in Milwaukee.

They're only paying him $3M though. Great value for that $$$.....

His stats taken in a vacuum, perhaps.  In terms of pitching staff construction, a false economy.

Really, you think he’s worth it. Every time he pitches the bullpen takes over in the 4th or 5th inning, not much of a value at all, not for a starter

Helluva play by Jorge!

It was. Especially since he had to come from shallow RF.

Garlick just got there.

I didn't see a replay to learn about his jump on that one.  Did he get going on a straight line, or have to make up for it with the last burst of what little speed he has?

Looked to me like a rather poor jump. It’s hard to pick up balls that don’t go high in the air.

Not really looking for a reason to criticize.  More the opposite, was hoping for a reason to praise.

I don’t have sprint speed stats, but I don’t think Garlick is particularly slow. He’s not agile and doesn’t have great instincts, but I think his straight ahead speed is okay.

The scouting report I have most conveniently at hand puts him at slightly below average in foot speed.  Decent routes.  He's not Gary Sanchez slow, but I like someone fleet in LF.  Garlick makes the most of his tools out there.
