He looked good tonight. He was working quickly, moving the ball around. He did give up a home run to Gio Gonzalez and he couldn't get Span out. Other than that, he was effective, especially considering his fastball wasn't over 90.

Well, it was the only run he gave up. It's not like pitchers never hit home runs.

Slowey was always a decent pitcher. If he's healthy again he could have a nice season in the NL in a pitcher's park (I think the new park is still a pitcher's park).

He was having a break out season prior to that wrist injury. I still wonder if he would have been a very good 2/3 type guy had that injury not happened. I hope it works out for him. He'll have plenty of chances in Florida this year.
