glunn Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Slowey always had decent stuff -- maybe he has found his niche.
Brad Swanson Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 He looked good tonight. He was working quickly, moving the ball around. He did give up a home run to Gio Gonzalez and he couldn't get Span out. Other than that, he was effective, especially considering his fastball wasn't over 90.

"He looked good, other than he gave up a homer to the pitcher." Kind of like, "She looks good, other than being bald and looking like a dude."
Brad Swanson Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Well, it was the only run he gave up. It's not like pitchers never hit home runs.
kab21 Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Slowey was always a decent pitcher. If he's healthy again he could have a nice season in the NL in a pitcher's park (I think the new park is still a pitcher's park).

I still wonder if he would have been a very good 2/3 type guy had that injury not happened. I hope it works out for him. He'll have plenty of chances in Florida this year.
