Who’s the Top Twins Prospect? Alex Kirilloff vs. Royce Lewis

Lewis has the higher upside at a premium position. That may make him the best prospect to some, and that’s perfectly reasonable.

 

I think Kirilloff is more likely to succeed and stick at the major league level. There is no question about his ability to hit. There is with Lewis.

To address the statements that Lewis's poor hitting in 2019 AA. He addressed that by saying it was mental. He took care of that by hitting well and winning MVP in the AFL, while playing 2 different positions.

At St. Paul we didn't get much news, the only news that came out was that Lewis was the best hitter there. Yet Rooker, Jeffers, Kiriloff and Blankenhorn were brought up and hit very well, how does that reflects on Lewis?

Many criticize his high leg kick. But many have had success with it, namely Donaldson and Puckett. So I'm not worried about him hitting in MLB.

But I've also been on record (on Twitter) as saying Kirilloff will win a couple of batting titles and an MVP. So, that's pretty good.

 

I also don't think there is a huge difference between Kirilloff and Larnach, prospect-status-wise. 

If Lewis is better than a player who 'will win a couple of batting titles and an MVP' then the Twins are set up well for the future with the two of them.

Looking forward to seeing Lewis in Wichita this tear. I'm sure Kirilloff will be on Twins roster.

I doubt you'll see Lewis in Wichita (if so, not for long) - more likely St. Paul.

Exactly what I was thinking.    Basically saying Kiriiloff will be the equivalent of Morneau and since many would say Morneau was as valuable or more so than Mauer it equates to Kirioloff being as good as Morneau and Lewis will be better than Mauer.    I hope Seth is right but at this stage it looks like   too much sunshine blowing out his ....

K Law thinks it's Kirilloff. He's ranked #7 in his top 100 prospect rankings.
