Odorizzi to start season on Injured List

Rocco Baldelli announced after the Wednesday night exhibition game in Chicago that Jake Odorizzi will begin the season on the Injured List with a stiff upper back. Disappointing, I'm sure, but with the Twins early-season off days, he could miss his first start and be ready for his second start. Allows them to carry an extra  bullpen arm.

I am disappointed, but none of us here at TD expected the Twins' players to go through a season without some down time due to injuries or illness or family emergencies. All I can say is : "Next man up ! "

No such thing as a regular roster anyway. I do hope that Sano plays all 60 games with no relief at first base. What are the chances of that happening? Great time to see how serious he really is about a long career.
