Take a look at these stats.
twins1095 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2019 Author Posted June 15, 2019 Had a few hard seltzers and I made it as far as showing how good our top 3 pitchers have been in 90% of our games this season setting us up for success. I will follow up and dig in deeper but I hope this jumps in. We talk a lot about the #bomba squad. As much as the #bomba squad, the success of the Twins is due to the success of our SPs... at least at the top end. Berrios, Odorizzi, and Gibson for 90% of this season have been dominating and winning us games regardless of our offense and in spite of our non-Taylor Rogers bullpen. Can these guys keep it up? Is the current production sustainable? If these 3 can keep up their performance and put 9 out of 10 starts at this level what does that mean?
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 That means they have a pretty formidable playoff rotation.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 I heard something that the Twins have the most pitching shut outs against their opponents, too.
goulik Verified Member Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 But Odorizzi still is unable to go deep into games. He’s a 6 inning guy and we need a bullpen to finish it off for him. Nothing against what he’s doing, it’s phenomenal but there’s a reason Berríos has more innings and there’s an asterisk next to his “Ace” numbers. I’m not saying get rid of him or anything, extend him as a really good number 3 type and keep the bullpen fresh knowing you will need them for 3 innings when he pitches. Pérez also started the year with phenomenal results and has come back to Earth some. I’m afraid some of these numbers are not sustainable without getting another top of the rotation arm. Berríos is definitely a #2 starter and possibly an Ace with just a little more growth but with this team as constructed we’re going to need the offense to carry this if we make a World Series run.
