I understand the overusing part, but with the way Meija has looked, I would want him no where near a 0-2 run lead right now, as they had in Game 1 yesterday and today's game. Game 2 would have been an ideal time to use him, but they went with Romero...who was only up for the day, and Duffy instead.

Meija and Parker both haven't pitched since the 17th. A 4 game absence from a reliever isn't completely uncommon with 8-9 man bullpens.

Parker has been ill.

The Twins maybe wouldn’t need an 8 man pen if they actually used the guys they have. If the Twins are going to try to contend, they have no room for a player that isn’t able to help.

Mejia is nearly 26, not 22. He needs to get outs or get off the roster, period.

Did they use Harper in either game? I think they are planning for possible length against a very good Astro team with Odorizzi, Pineda and TBA as starters.

If Mejia isn’t used in the Astro series I will join you in being concerned.

Harper threw 43 pitches Thursday. Today was still iffy on his availability.

I still don’t think they needed length this weekend. They could have used Mejia in the 7th today and pushed back May and Hildenberger but I wouldn’t have done that. I think they might need length from the pen coming up in the next few games.

I think they screwed up by babying him in Spring Training. He looks like he's just not in game shape. Not physically, just location and sharpness wise.

The non-use of Mejia is definitely a concern. The Astros turned a 9 run deficit into a tight 11-10 loss today. The Twins shouldn’t count on any freebies against them.

Hes gonna have to learn that to stay in the major leagues, he's gotta be a reliever too. If his stuff was good enough to start he would have beaten Perez out.

What's wrong with having him around as a long reliever from the right and occasional spot starter? He seems very coachable and does well pretty much every time he's called on.
