Badsmerf Verified Member Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 They do it every year. The best was Revere as the guy from Yo Gabba Gabba.
nokomismod Verified Member Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 yeah that was a good one.

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 At least they have company in numbers this year. There have been times when there were very few.

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Ah, hazing a tradition that should die asap. Not sure I would call that hazing.......
James Verified Member Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Ah, hazing a tradition that should die asap.Rookie dress up day... hazing? I guess a little bit, but all of that seems pretty mild.
James Verified Member Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Here is the Oakland A's one: https://twitter.com/JerryBlevins_13/status/248904798240395265/photo/1 I guess I didn't realize that Oakland had that many rookies. There dress up idea is pretty good too.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 It is mild agreed, but it really is old and tired, and like it or not, this example gets followed and taken to extremes in high school sports. I like frivolity a lot, bit this is pretty much just kind of lame at this point, imo. Ymmv.
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Whoever's got the bald head and beard fits the prisoner uniform perfectly.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Whoever's got the bald head and beard fits the prisoner uniform perfectly. that would be Tyler Robertson. And he is about the size of Jared Allen. Feel free to tell him that in person. He is a nice guy though
YourHouseIsMyHouse Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 From Post #9 Who are the two on the far left? I can identify them all (Even Mastroianni behind the Police Sign) except those guys. EDIT: Looks like Parmelee on the far left. Second from the left? Fien?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Do the Twins still do the back pack thing? Was that just for pitchers? Trying to remember what that was all about.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Somewhere Brian Dozier sees these pictures and a single tear rolls down his cheek. With Slama weeping on his shoulder. Agreed all around!
twinzgrl Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 There is a great slide show on espn's site (under rookie hazing) showing MLB rookies in tutus and leotards and more....and it shows many of the backpacks that rookie pitchers carry. Quite entertaining.
YourHouseIsMyHouse Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 The one where Tosoni dressed as a flasher was also a good one.
