What makes you think the “coping” isn’t coming from those insistant that the front office is completely at fault for not getting the preferred free agents here?

 

You want change and you want this to get fixed? We need a salary cap and a salary floor not significantly far apart. Leadership should be fighting for this.

I'm sure this will be proposed by MLBPA at the next CBA. They're going to have to prepare for an ugly negotiation and potentially sit out the season to help themselves and future players. Baseball executives are no longer holding up their end of the deal in the last CBA.

Yeah, revenue share clearly looks out of whack if a salary cap/floor suggestion migh actually benefit the players.

Hey, I'm all for a cap and a floor.  Baseball needs to start sharing revenues better and implement (at least) a spending floor.

 

The "no one comes to MN" argument doesn't fly.  It's an excuse.  One I can tell you people in Phoenix...and even sometimes Chicago, use.  It's bupkis.

These guys rightfully feel entitled to big paychecks. Both are legit MVP candidates and should be for a few more years. I’m guessing each will get their $30 million + AAV but not for longer than 6-7 years. Pujols, ARod, Greinke, Miggy, Price(soon enough), and PEDs scared owners from those long term deals paying players into, and beyond, their mid 30s.
