I suspect that there is some temptation in moving things along and having Sano more ready to jump into the lineup to deal with the potentially imminent loss of Escobar and/or Dozier. The front office still has tickets to sell... and having the likes of Motter and Adrianza rounding out the infield going into August isn't going to turn the turnstiles too much.

Sadly, I agree with both your post and the fact that Motter and Andrainza aren't going to spin the turnstiles. The reason I say sadly is that if the FO runs the team to satisfy the teams ticket sales department rather than develop the best orginisation possible you will be stuck forever in a never ending loop of "the next big thing", not turn inning into any big thing.

I don't think it's fair to lump Adrianza with Motter. The former, though not a great bat, is a major league ball player even if it is just a utility player. The latter, to quote Harry Doyle from Major League, "I don't know what the hell Falvine is thinking!"

He looks a lot slimmer/healthier in this picture than he did in April/May.  That makes me optimistic about his future outlook.

First off, I hope Sano’s mother has a full and speedy recovery. Second, that could be playing a role in this. For a guy who’s life has been on a generally upward trend for years, sometimes complacency or a sense of entitlement can become a factor (not saying either of those ARE the problem, just they COULD be the problem). Life is short, so enjoy what you have and who you have while you can.

Until he can lay off the junkballs on the outside part of the plate, he won't be able to do much. Everyone has him figured out and he hasn't adjusted. Seems simple, just hold up on anything out that way.
