How could a ballclub score with this pathetic lineup? This lineup probably cannot score in a AA game.

Not that much different than yesterday's.  Mauer in, Rosario out.  Wilson in, Garver out.  Except, I guess for the fact that about 30% of the team's total bases have been coming from Rosario.

Not much different? Mauer in Rosario out, Wilson in Garver out, Motter in Escobar out. Come on? About 50% of the offense and total bases came from Rosario and Escobar alone. I seriously doubt Wilson can hit AA pitching and he is not much better than Buxton offensively.

Who is the extra infielder if Eskobar can't go?

In hockey they have a list of emergency players in the area in case if a goalie for example is a late scratch. Maybe baseball could do the same and use fans in the stands that brought baseball gloves?

iF Escobar - hope not -went on the d.l. do they bring Sano back ? - they have zero help in rochester

Motter would play everyday... Oh boy!

Is there any reason to believe Porcello intentionally beaned Escobar? Did Gibson plunk someone first? I'm not watching.

50/50 didnt look good, and porcello does lead the a.l. in hitting guys

Lackluster offensive performance, another game where being down 2-0 seems like an impossible uphill climb. All too familiar and why so many casual Twins fans have checked out on this season. For those of us who haven't, it's very frustrating to watch this kind of baseball.

What a disappointment, guy with a 98 mph fastball, 92 mph slider and a nice 84 mph curveball and he can't even be a solid reliever.

So... I'm getting the sense Porcello hitting Eduardo Escobar was intentional.

Theory: Earl Webb, when he played for Boston, holds the MLB record for doubles in a season...purposely trying to prevent that being broken?

Welp, there it goes.

Guess we'll take the 2-1 series win, coming off a 2-1 series win against Cleveland. The Twins are really trying to catch up as slowly as possible.

I think we should forget about Cleveland for a while and start to keep our expectations more realistic. Shooting for a .500 record by the All-Star break seems like a reasonable thing to hope for, I suppose.

Is Porcello finally old enough to grow a beard?

At 53 I'm not, although I do have a pathetic attempt at one going on right now.

Not watching...didn't see Escobar out.

Gonna get 1-hit if Porcello stays in.

Sure would be nice to be ride a hot winning streak for a change. Seems every time the Twins are on the verge of getting back in the race they drop a clunker in there.

14 additional wins would be needed to be .500 at the ASB.    Given the upcoming schedule, I think its doable to win 10 to 14 more.    I don't think its out of the question that they will be within a stones throw of .500 by July 15th.

Twins have 20 games left till the break. Gonna be tough but 500 would be great

There's games when this team just says, ahhh what the heck, we just took two before this

Yeah, typically day games. The Twins haven't won a day game since Hrbek retired.

No need to check, I'm quite confident I'm right on this one.

Upcoming opponents and current records:

Texas (32-44)

@ Chicago White Sox (24-49)

@ Chicago Cubs (42-29)

@ Milwaukee (43-30)

Baltimore (21-51)

Kansas City (22-52)

Tampa Bay (34-40)

That homestand right before the ASG gives the Twins a total of 11 home games against some very beatable opponents. If the Twins can win 8 of those games, they might be pretty close to .500 by the ASG.

The looming Chicago/Milwaukee road trip could be a rough patch. Here's hoping they make hay against Texas this weekend.

Seven - zip, eh? Belisle in there getting hammered? What the heck is he doing on this team? Any other reason he's here besides coming in to mop up bad losses?
