sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 1. Summer! No kiddin'! It is the Solstice (well ÷/- a day as i'm too lazy to look it up) To celebrate it, you are expected to add things to this game thread. I look forward to seeing what it all adds up to in the end. 2. Top non--Trump news item: Joe Ms have been designated for game thread assignment. Montana says he is happy as he can finally work on his bucket list. Madden looks over his shoulder and says it pails bu comparison. McCarthy says they're over rated, as there's always a hole. Mauer guesses he will just have to find another way into broadcasting. 3. NESN (the cable channel what brings Boston folk their pro baseball games) listed todays game as noon et. I assume that is just so that they can tell us a whole bunch of stuff in advance. Perhaps it is conscienctious. Players prepared, Fan base informed and all, but still, if i want to sleep in an extra hour and not miss a pitch. They dare to practice on my credulous simplicity? 4. No Buxton, no Sano. And yet we took 2 so far from a vaunted East Coast contender. Am i just too naively optimistic? Perhaps, but i don't mind. It is good to see them play well yesterday! 5. I gotta catch up on last night's Blazing Saddles quotes. After the game i walked in on the second half of a movie which winds up with everyone singing "Life's like a movie, write your own ending, keep believing, keep pretending, we've just done what we've set out to do. And with the lovers, the dreamers, and you." Red SoxRick Porcello (R ) 1. Mookie Betts ( R) RF2. Andrew Benintendi (L) LF3. J.D. Martinez ( R) DH4. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B5. Xander Bogaerts (R ) SS6. LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Last night's game was the first one I spent on this site. The Twin's won and the company was great so it was lot's of fun. The Blazing Saddle quotes were a sideshow but very funny. Let's get the sweep today. Go Twins!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Author Posted June 21, 2018 Welcome LVTwinsFan! Twins win every game and we are always funny here on TwinsDaily. Stems from all the above average children around the Lake Wobegon. Aw shucks. Come on in and make yourself at home!
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I remember posting prior to the Cleveland series that the Twins would get at least 4 out of 6 vs Cleveland and the Red Sox. So I can get my hopes up. Only to probably get 2 or worse vs the Rangers and White Sox. Here we are.

So I can get my hopes up. Only to probably get 2 or worse vs the Rangers and White Sox. Here we are. I remember you saying that. I'll never forget that period of time in high school, discussing Whitman and Thorueo (help me out here, spellcheck) and all that, and idealistically deciding that a life of ups and downs, highest peaks and deepest valleys, was far preferable to the mundane flat plain of "quiet desperation." Strap on the feedbag of fanaticism and belly up to the trough of despair.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Gibson reverted back to his old nibbling self in the 1st inning. Lots of pitches thrown, he needs to attack the zone more.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Escobar in a lot of pain, I'll be surprised if he doesn't have to come out eventually
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Author Posted June 21, 2018 I am not ready to be hurt. Apparently Rosario is a late scratch due to strained arm. Dozier moved up into his spot. And Escobar apparently got his arm up in time to protect his face from a pitch.
OldTimeTwinkie Provisional Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Who is the extra infielder if Eskobar can't go?
OldTimeTwinkie Provisional Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Adrianza was going for porcello on that first pitch.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Man, that looked awful. We can’t lose Esco, too.
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Jeepers Gibsons slider can be nasty, last 6 sliders thrown, 1 ball and 5 swinging strikes, and the batters were JD Martinez and Benintendi ERA now below 3.20, 2 years ago I'd have never dreamed of this, one bright spot this year for sure
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 the game here is on MLB Network so I am forced to listen to the NESN announcers. they said Porcello is not afraid to pitch inside, having hit 10 batters this season. Why should he be? He's an AL pitcher and doesn't have to bat. I wonder how much "courage" he would have if he was on a NL team
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 So should Gibson take their top hitter out of the game?
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 So should Gibson take their top hitter out of the game?No
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Is Porcello finally old enough to grow a beard?
mrmpls Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Porcello is tied for hitting batters with 10
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Author Posted June 21, 2018 They done scored on us... Gnash gnash mutter mutter.
jun Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I think Boston hit Escobar intentionally. He didn't even waste any other pitch to hit him, first pitch!
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I think Boston hit Escobar intentionally. He didn't even waste any other pitch to hit him, first pitch! It sure would seem that way
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I wish Gibson would throw his curveball more, it probably would help keep hitters off this other pitches a little more
jun Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 How could a ballclub score with this pathetic lineup? This lineup probably cannot score in a AA game.
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 How could a ballclub score with this pathetic lineup? This lineup probably cannot score in a AA game.Alcoholic anonymous game? Yeah even then probably
mrmpls Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Worse than a spring training looking lineup today, Hope esco and eddie r ok,
jun Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Porcello was aiming right at Escobar. It couldn't be more intentional.
mrmpls Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Molly should tell Gibby . Nail someone , ur about done anyway
