2. Top non--Trump news item: Joe Ms have been designated for game thread assignment. Montana says he is happy as he can finally work on his bucket list. Madden looks over his shoulder and says it pails bu comparison. McCarthy says they're over rated, as there's always a hole. Mauer guesses he will just have to find another way into broadcasting.

 

3. NESN (the cable channel what brings Boston folk their pro baseball games) listed todays game as noon et. I assume that is just so that they can tell us a whole bunch of stuff in advance. Perhaps it is conscienctious. Players prepared, Fan base informed and all, but still, if i want to sleep in an extra hour and not miss a pitch. They dare to practice on my credulous simplicity?

 

4. No Buxton, no Sano. And yet we took 2 so far from a vaunted East Coast contender. Am i just too naively optimistic? Perhaps, but i don't mind. It is good to see them play well yesterday!

 

5. I gotta catch up on last night's Blazing Saddles quotes. After the game i walked in on the second half of a movie which winds up with everyone singing "Life's like a movie, write your own ending, keep believing, keep pretending, we've just done what we've set out to do. I remember posting prior to the Cleveland series that the Twins would get at least 4 out of 6 vs Cleveland and the Red Sox.      So I can get my hopes up.        Only to probably get 2 or worse vs the Rangers and White Sox.

Gibson reverted back to his old nibbling self in the 1st inning. Lots of pitches thrown, he needs to attack the zone more.

And Escobar apparently got his arm up in time to protect his face from a pitch.

Jeepers Gibsons slider can be nasty, last 6 sliders thrown, 1 ball and 5 swinging strikes, and the batters were JD Martinez and Benintendi

the game here is on MLB Network so I am forced to listen to the NESN announcers. they said Porcello is not afraid to pitch inside, having hit 10 batters this season. Why should he be? He's an AL pitcher and doesn't have to bat. I wonder how much "courage" he would have if he was on a NL team
