Topsy Turvy Game Thread intro:

 

Detroit. Not too far from where you go South of the Boarder and wind up in Canada. I forget, do we expect them to pay for a wall? They might at that, if it is shown to improve health. They care.

 

Gardenhire. Is in the other dug out. Maybe i'm a little behind the times... Should i be checking on other fixtures too? Dougie Baseball? Tom Kelly? Where will it all end?

 

Patience. We got prospects learning their craft. Trains don't stop on a dime. And i've seen some of the pennies they've tried to stop on...

 

Bunthorne's Bride. (It's the subtitle for Patience) It is a mildly literary reference. It's a a latter 19th century light opera about the aesthetic movement. And fads in general. There are perhaps unexpected aspects of fads and fandoms, eh?

So, if I have followed the ups and downs the last few days correctly, the bench players for today are Grossman, Wilson and Cave.

 

Meaning that the Twins won’t pinch hit for Adrianza late in the game because the only other infielder is the DH.

The Twins lineup looks like a JV lineup the minute any semblance of quality shows up on the mound. They have feasted on the occasional mistake, but the plate approach has been almost universally atrocious. It goes beyond explanation...

This is where the Twins have missed Polanco (and more recently Mauer) and his contact approach.

Quitely, Adrianza has become one of the team's better hitters as of late... of course, that's more due to our hitters being bad, but Adrianza's OPS of .703 is creeping higher and nearing Dozier's .728. With the defense he provides, he's proven to be a capable bench player and not a total liability, but he still shouldn't be starting every day.
