Can somebody help me with the 26th-man rule? 

 

In another thread, there was general agreement that with being originally scheduled in Rochester, Slegers was the likely call-up for the DH next Tuesday. 

 

If Mauer was activated and Slegers sent down in the next couple days, Slegers would normally have to be down 10 days. But didn't I ready somewhere that a player in his situation CAN be used as the 26th man, sent back down, and have his 10-day requirement picked up from that spot? 

 

If so, this seems like a brilliant move, particularly if Slegers gives us another inning or so.
