This is really a snooze fest when the Twins are up. Getting dominated by the "ageless" (or is aging?) C.C. Sabathia is embarrassing. We can't hit LH pitching at all. It's hard to get excited about this team so far.  The runs we have scored have come in bunches with HRs. It seems like there is almost no chance of us scoring by moving runners along and getting hits with RISP.  Maybe last year was a mirage...

Maybe the Twins are stuck in a loop of really bad seasons (2014, 2016, 2018?) rotating with surprisingly good seasons (2015, 2017). Nobody will have any idea what year of the "rebuild" we're in.

Heh.... I logged in just in time for Berrios to give up that dinger.  Must be my fault.

 

But, let's see.... optimism seems to be the order of the day....  Hmmmm......

I've switched over to the Angels / Astros game to watch Ohtani pitch. Thank Jeebus for MLB.TV.

 

Maybe lightning will strike and the Twins will take the last 2 games of this Yanks series and go on a tear. I think they could really use Buxton back in the lineup. Egads things are ugly right now.

Meanwhile, in Rochester, the Red Wings have one hit through 8 innings and have two batters hitting over .250 (Petit and Buss).  Cave is at .175 and Vargas is at .167.

 

No help there.

 

Gordon is hitting .375 and Wade .315 at Chattanooga.

The fielding mistakes did him no favors, although one of the errors was his. Nevertheless his pitching wasn't the Yankees' problem this inning.

Mauer now 3 for the last 24 and 7 games.

 

A pitch like that to a Yankee, even from Berrios, and it is a homer. A mistake is an out these days for the Twins' touted offense.
