With the injury to Max Kepler, hopefully it's not season ending. Wouldn't Melky Cabrera be a good addition to the team? Solid veteran & could be better than the in house alternatives.

He looks like Grossman statistically. Solid but I am not sure I make this move.

Obviously if both Buxton and Kepler are out for an extended chunk of time it isn't good but the Twins do have some options in the OF.

I left off Lamarre since I don't really understand why he would be any good despite his spring and limited AB's that show him as a legit option.

Melky Cabrera does not belong in a contender.

 

The one thing the Twins can do to upgrade their OF situation (and have a plan B for Buxton's next migraines) would be to ship Grossman to Baltimore and see if they are willing to eat about half of Adam Jones's salary ($17M) and call it a day.

Jones is a better defender. Other than that, there's not a great deal of difference between Jones and Melky Cabrera.

What about the $12-15M less it would cost for Cabrera & no prospects lost as well.
