Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I don't mean to do your work for you, Randi, but I've noticed Granite is slashing .209/.301/.231 (.532 OPS) at AAA right now in 104 PAs. That's in stark comparison to his AAA stat line last year where he was hitting .338 with .867 OPS. With just 2 XBHs (no HRs), I have to wonder if his 40 man roster spot might be in question at some point. With no power, a noodle arm, and guys like Jake Cave and LaMonte Wade (soon) around, I'm wondering if he might not be in the Twins' future plans. They already have an older version of him named Ryan LaMarre on the roster. But who knows, he's only 25, maybe he'll turn things around, it's only 100 PAs. He still rarely strikes out (9 Ks) but his ceiling might be as a pinch runner & defensive replacement in the late innings.

I like Granite but to be honest, this is how I have always seen him in the Majors. With the way he has been at the plate this year though... SMH. I predict he pulls out of it but this is VERY disappointing to me.
jun Verified Member Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 LaMarre seems to often strike out looking. That's not good. Granite is not hitting. Bring up Wade when he is healthy. I would like to see more of Cave than LaMarre.
