Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 (edited) Tyus still needs 30 minutes a night though. Edited January 23, 2018 by Pardon My Dinger
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted January 25, 2018 Author Posted January 25, 2018 If anyone knows what’s wrong with Jimmy Buckets’ knee, please do tell. I’m worried.
kab21 Verified Member Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 It would be nice if they could have the Wiggins that plays without Butler be the same as when Butler is playing. But this has always been my argument for a staggered lineup. Wiggins and Butler shouldn't share the floor very much. And it is also one reason that I liked PJ Tucker (vs Jamal Crawford) as the 3rd wing. Crawford is great but they simply have too many ball/shot dominant players on the court. bluechipper 1
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Jeff Teague about single-handedly lost tonight's game. Between the two point guards, 1-16 with 2 points.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 So....how much we missing Rubio?
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted January 30, 2018 Author Posted January 30, 2018 I am so done with Teague. Like, so done.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 At least he has the excuse of being hurt. If he's going to play like this though, then sitting out for a while would be a good idea.
Thegrin Verified Member Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 I got Teague fatigue bluechipper 1
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted January 31, 2018 Author Posted January 31, 2018 They’ve attempted three 3-pointers through the first half. God bless their hearts, three 3-pointers against the raptors. I won’t catch the second, but I have a funny feeling about this one.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 Have I mentioned my feelings on Jeff Teague yet? Goodness gracious he is a stupid basketball player.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 Derrick Rose now? Please no. Please. KirbyDome89 1
Guest Guests Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Derrick Rose now? Please no. Please. He’s kind of like Ricky Rubio, but with worse health, defense and passing, at least before Rubio was en fuego.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Rose is a bad basketball player at this point, and I don't want him as a person on this team either. It makes no sense to bring him in. Pardon My Dinger 1
kab21 Verified Member Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Have I mentioned my feelings on Jeff Teague yet? Goodness gracious he is a stupid basketball player.lol14 pts on 50% shooting and 15 assists with 1 turnoverHe isn't perfect but your hate on him is tiring. This is the Rubio situation all over again.Derrick Rose's only place on this team is firmly behind Jones and Crawford and not taking one minute from them. The Wolves have had problems with depth though whenever one player in the rotation is injured so I wouldn't be totally against Rose. The problem is that he will be brought in to play. Not a fan of that.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 lol 14 pts on 50% shooting and 15 assists with 1 turnover He isn't perfect but your hate on him is tiring.Yeah, those numbers aren’t too shabby. But, I am beyond fed up with his unwillingness to shoot when he’s open beyond the arc, countless floaters from 20 feet away, and bonehead passes. This guy is straight shaqtin’ a fool.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 (edited) Why are we talking about Rose and not Bellenili? I know he signed with Philly, but he would've seemed like a better fit. Edited February 11, 2018 by TheLeviathan bluechipper 1

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Because Bellenili isn't BFF with Thibs? I guess. But he was a Bull and that seems to be all it takes with Thibs.
Guest Guests Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 I guess. But he was a Bull and that seems to be all it takes with Thibs.Yes, with Thibs, the Wolves may yet scale the great heights of his success with Chicago. Of course, Chicago got three valuable players from Thibs in exchange for two years of Jimmy Butler, so they will likely exceed their glory years with Thibs in a few years.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 I always laugh at the TNT guys complaining about how slow the Wolves play and how that won't work in the playoffs. You would think someone tell them they're the #3 offensive rating team in the NBA and #6 in pure scoring. I haven't heard them say one positive thing about the Wolves every time they've been featured for a game, and I don't know why. kab21 1

I haven't heard them say one positive thing about the Wolves every time they've been featured for a game, and I don't know why. That’s because our slow iso-heavy ball-control offense with our talent works against a lot of teams but it can’t keep up with the explosiveness of the true contenders. Especially with our inconsistent defense and total inability to guard or shoot the 3, or slow teams in transition. Side note: Wiggins could become the worst contract in Minnesota history and his max deal hasn’t even kicked in yet. He got benched in crunch time tonight for Crawford of all people, and has been invisible on the court way too frequently. His shooting and passing is somehow getting worse. I don’t know how you salvage him but you have to find a way. KirbyDome89 1

This guy is straight shaqtin’ a fool.Teague is the least of the problems on the Wolves. He is doing almost exactly what he is being paid to do. He isn't perfect but I am quite satisfied with him.#1 issue - Wiggins - This is becoming a disaster. He needs to figure out how to be a wingman to Butler's alpha role. He has incredible talent but he also has no clue what to do right now. #2 issue - Dieng - they gave him a very big extension but then decided not to play him. This makes no sense at all. I think he is still very deserving of the extension and worth it but not if he only plays 12-15 min/game. His production per 36 minutes is actually slightly better this season but he is getting 1/2 of the minutes.Note - I have always been a Bjelica fan and he is cutting into Dieng's minutes the most. 44% from 3 this season Taildragger8791 1

Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Yeah the Wiggins max deal might end up being the worst decision in the history of Minnesota sports. By nearly every advanced metric out there, he's one of the worst starters in the NBA.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 Yeah the Wiggins max deal might end up being the worst decision in the history of Minnesota sports.Um, no.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Um, no.Max deal for one of the worst 10 or 15 starters in the league. Which decisions would rank up with that? In a salary cap league, is it even possible to build a championship team with a contract like that?

Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 (edited) Also the parise/suter deal is waaaaaay more detrimental, just off the top of my head. Edited February 17, 2018 by Pardon My Dinger

I don’t know how you salvage him but you have to find a way.Does Wiggins really lead the league in minutes the last two years, which coincide with his drop-off? There’s got to be a relationship. Typically, when a younger player struggles, the strategy is to reduce his playing time and try to put him in situations where he’ll have success, then build off that. Coach Shortbench, however, would never do that, because he seems to have only two strategies, “More” and “Harder,” which do not include limiting players to situations where they can maximize their success.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Wiggins is 22 years old, man. Slow down.So what? NBA is a young man's league. This is his 4th season, which is more important than his age. How many superstars in the NBA right now were still awful by their 4th season?
