Hush, you ... it's a game thread ... no politics!

But yes, like that.

Game thread > avian flu > math > politics

Delayed gratification.

Delayed to the point the store closed before you could get your tasty treat? You took a chance, I believe.

Well, it's a school night, so I need to take leave of this fine game. Crossing fingers for no bad surprises when I read the box score tomorrow.

ftfy ... since calculus started us off in that scope ... not just math but more ... ick.

I remember when I retired from the Air Force.  I'd been in for 26 years, and now I had to go out into the civilian work force and find a job...which meant job interviews.

I admit, it took me a while to find a job, and I think my interview skills were largely to blame.  I remember my first interview, the guy starts out by asking me to describe myself in three words.

"Lazy," I said.

Well, if it had closed before I got there, then it wasn't meant to be.

Don't buy in to run differential, overall. In any sport, SCOREBOARD is what matters. Get blown out here and there can skew numbers.

The ability to blow some other team out skews your chances of being pretty good yourself.

I didn't even bring up advanced math. Just calculus.

OK, now I'm out.

Okay, now the Sox are talking about Prince and partying like it's 1999 ... and then veered off into talking about the paisley shirts they have ...

Yeah.

Anyone have recent stats on Pressly? I swear, except for a couple appearances, he's looked really good recently. Is he the 9th inning guy next season?

I think it's safe to hit the hay... As a poster said earlier, some of us are teachers and have to get up at 6; hopefully the bullpen doesn't eff it up.

Too much was made of the run differential.  Somehow our W-L record was supposed to normalize out to the run differential, but the run differential would never normalize out to the fact that we were bottom 3 in runners stranded and runners stranded ISP.  The latter normalized, RD is normalizing, Twins keep on winning.  Also, the competition matters.  #classrelief

way too much.  It's not a predictive stat, IMO.

With an answer like that, I'd have described you as, "efficient."

Hired.

Is it just me, but between lineups, SP and Pen usage, especially trusting in some of the kids, does anyone else think Molitor is growing as a manager?

He looks a lot better in games when his starter gives him 7 SO innings and Rosario hits 2 HRs.

It's a strong, maybe............

Or just figured out which side his bread is buttered on?

To be fair to the run differential, there were a couple games where the boys got crushed... there haven't been too many games where they've put the beat down on the other team; like a 15-3 game or the likes.

Well this one sure helps.
