Rich Hill throws no hitter through 9; loses game

That call at first base in the second inning sure was close. I had no idea what the umpires were looking at in overturning the call until I realized Hill tagged him just before stepping on the base.

Showing again how stupid assigning wins and losses to one player truly is.

Starting pitcher wins and losses are not very significant. Relief pitcher wins are not very significant. Relief pitcher losses are more significant.

Considering this was the first time in MLB history that a perfect game was broken up in the 9th inning with an error and then the no hitter was broken up by a walk off home run I thought that would be more memorable than being at a no hitter!

Yes. They mean his manager thought enough of him to bring him in with a lead or a tie.

The complaints and angst about pitcher wins absolutely make it a stat worth keeping.
