Mauer flashed the glove this weekend! Yesterday was bad, but I cannot argue with the results of today's game. Quintana is top notch and Santana out dueled him.

Two takeaways:

 

One: I can't hate on Mauer any more, after those great catches he made.

 

Two: Kintzler and the team gutted through a game where Kintzler didn't have his best stuff.

 

For whatever reason, in the early season, this team is not the team of last year.

My fault, I was busy most of the game and the first 4 games I watched from the first pitch.

The Twins are 5-1 against teams that are supposed to be beatable. Good teams are supposed to beat these teams. Yes, it's early to call this Twins team good or even marginal. The early indications are promising, however.

This is the first game that I have been able to watch in real time, and my heart is still pounding.

The Twins are 5-1 against teams that are supposed to be beatable. Good teams are supposed to beat these teams. Yes, it's early to call this Twins team good or even marginal. The early indications are promising, however.

At least this year the Twins are not at the top of that list of beatable teams.

It isn't. The vibe and energy is opposite of last year. I'm not saying the Twins are going to be kings of the castle, but I think we can look forward to a summer of this team playing competent and competitive baseball.
