cmoss84 Verified Member Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 What if we didn't know as much about these trade negotiations as we thought? What if it isn't centered around JDL? What if the hang up isn't about a better 2nd or 3rd prospect, but something else... I know this scenario is HIGHLY unlikely, but what if the Twin's position is "we are not willing to trade Dozier right now unless we absolutely get blown away." What if the Twins are trying to figure out what it would take to get Urias? What if we have offered Dozier + Jay + other prospects to make it work? Again, HIGHLY unlikely, but if this were the case, what do you think it would take to get Urias? Here's mine:Dozier, Jay, Stewart and Kepler for Urias and Puig (I need some Friday baseball talk at work)
Rhino and Compass Verified Member Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I think were Urias discussed, then Buxton and/or Sano would have come up long before Dozier.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Urias is off the table. He's at the Buxton/Sano level. Maybe they are a bit worried about his arm since he's a pitcher but still, they aren't trading him. They're in win-now mode and he's arguably their second best pitcher. They don't have a lot of obvious holes and with Turner and Gonzalez and Bellinger, they wouldn't need a bat like Sano at the cost of an arm like his, even if they were trying to shed payroll. It just doesn't happen. I'm sure the Twins asked for Urias and quickly moved onto De Leon. I think the interesting 'what if' would have been if this FO was as quite as Ryan and we didn't hear anything at all. I wonder how crazy it would have gotten here.

Rhino and Compass Verified Member Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 All right, you did say HIGHLY UNLIKELY in your premise, so I will move on. I'm not sure on prospects, but what about this? Dodgers - Urias, Trayce ThompsonTwins - Buxton, Dozier, Stewart
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I'd give Dozier, Buxton, Rosario for Urias and Pederson a shot.
