ashbury Verified Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 There should be someplace to rent a wagon wheel coffee table for a day so you could bring it home and replace your real one with it when your s.o. isn't looking.Shhh! My wife doesn't know about my S.O.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Nice to see the left-handed swings of the switch hitters working today. Grossman's dad Les no doubt celebrating at home...
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 VARGAS!!!! I believe he just passed Mauer in season WAR...
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Nice slide by Grossman. We gripe about fundamentals, so give credit where due. He reached the base ASAP, yet under control so he didn't pop up and get called out. Now, about trying to reach third base with two out...
Guest Guests Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 VARGAS!!!!As a Vargas fan from way back, I sincerely hope there's not a doubt about his being on the team next year.

I thought that too, although my standard is reduced to just being happy with a correct slide that doesn't end in injury. That's the attitude.Brad Hamilton: Why don't you get a job Spicoli? ...Jeff Spicoli: All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine. ... It's a way of looking at that wave and saying, "Hey bud, let's party!"
Guest Guests Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Taylor Rogers is a good lefty reliever if you don't put him against right handed sluggers like Jose Abreu and Miguel Cabrera. Here's hoping that next year's manager understands that simple fact.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Enjoy the Little ThingsThat's what I convinced my S.O. of, long ago.

The pending change in leadership might give Vargas a new lease on life as a Twin... but then if he stays, new management has to figure out what to do with Park...

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Taylor Rogers is a good lefty reliever if you don't put him against right handed sluggers like Jose Abreu and Miguel Cabrera. Here's hoping that next year's manager understands that simple fact. By contrast, it took current management six years just to figure out that he was primarily a LOOGY-oriented RP, not an SP.

Guest Guests Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 The pending change in leadership might give Vargas a new lease on life as a Twin... but then if he stays, new management has to figure out what to do with Park...Let's see. He's going to turn 31 next season. He seems able to only be a DH against left-handed pitchers. He'll be coming off a potentially power-sapping injury. His strike outs are astronomical. If he comes back, he goes to AAA in hopes he demonstrates enough value to be traded. Giving Park priority just compounds TR's accidental mistake.

Now, let's hope for the replacement of the person who hasn't figured out that lefty specialists don't pitch to Abreu and Cabrera. Then Rogers can be a nice piece of the bullpen.

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 15 strikeouts. Gah. Umpire Crew Chief Brian Gorman must bear some of the blame here- this crew collectively had more than it's fair share of Bucknor/West WTF moments this weekend.
