twinssporto Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Nice work on the Thread. I couldn't find it and was getting nervous. Emailed Chief but didn't hear anything. Thanks for stepping up!!!! Nice work gocgo!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Double play. Polanco wasn't so far from 3rd... Might that have been 3 if they needed it?
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Why is Brad Pitt in the Icon for the Game thread. Is it because he portrayed Billy Beane in "Moneyball" and the Twins are currently without a GM. Or is that coincidence and that is someone's member picture?Chief's current whereabouts being unknown at the moment, I'll step in to answer "Yes".
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Rosario breaks up the no hitter... in the 2nd inning.
S. Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Chief's current whereabouts being unknown at the moment, I'll step in to answer "Yes". Someone really needs to get him a GPS so he doesn't wander off and get lost. But then again, I'm not sure a man of his age could figure out how to work it.
S. Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Looked like an awful jump. Rosario might be lucky Perez couldn't get a handle on it.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Polanco finally dribbled it fair to first... But i'm okay with Rosario not being thrown out.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 But then again, I'm not sure a man of his age could figure out how to work it.We're still talking about the GPS, right?
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 MLB.tv must have been reading our game thread on hangovers. Because between innings, they had an ad for Goose Island IPA, an ad for Budweiser, and another ad for Goose Island.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 We're still talking about the GPS, right? I thought they were spelled Jeeps... Shows what i know.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 RE: THE PHENOM I posted this today on the back end of the Max Kepler thread, thought I'd repost it here where someone will actually read it. Perhaps many of you know this already, but I didn't. We can thank Andy Johnson, the Twins Norway-based scout, for first noticing Kepler. Good article from 2009 which I don't remember reading. 14-15 other teams flew over to Germany to see him. Seems the Twins development plan shone above the others. http://m.mlb.com/new...ticle/7117716// And this from Mr-Baseball.com: "Andy Johnson: Played Baseball internationally in Europe and Australia. Served as head coach for the German League Cologne Cardinals and Norway’s Senior National Team. Covers European Baseball as a professional scout for the Minnesota Twins and is a development consultant with the Norwegian federation NSBF." Andy must be very proud. And we're proud of him.
70charger Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I would have had no idea we had a Norway-based scout. Looks like he's earned his money.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 A double for Santana. Not bad.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 A double for Santana. Not bad. And Dozier knocks him in. (Him is himself too)...
70charger Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Mauer checks in at two. Good half-inning so far.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Has it been mentioned that the twins would be right in it if they didn't have one of the worst starts in the history of baseball?
dgwills Provisional Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Starting to look like yesterday's game
70charger Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Are you freaking kidding me, Kepler?
jimmer Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Has it been mentioned that the twins would be right in it if they didn't have one of the worst starts in the history of baseball? You mean, if the first three months didn't count? :-)
Dozier's Glorious Hair Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 ROOKIE. OF. THE. YEAR.
70charger Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Also, I'm absolutely loving this whole Mauer-gets-on-base-and-Kepler-homers-him-in thing. More of that, please.
