We are now in the teens when it comes to games back to take our division. At least it sounds better than twenty games back.

I didn't expect us to be a winning team this season, so wrong guy to ask :-)

Yeah, maybe 'Team You Hoped For' is more accurate. My guess was that they'd sit a few games below .500 but score some runs.

 

They've finally got the second part right, and Kepler has been like Sano and Buxton expectations rolled into one. That part may be even more fun than having competitive baseball again. Maybe.

By the way, the twins are now on pace for 70 wins. That would make a record of 70-92. Almost unbelievable when you consider 120 losses was a distinct possibility for the first two months of the year.

We are on a pace to finish 98-64, assuming we don't lose any more games.

 

Our Magic Number is... well, we don't have one, as a 98 win record could still be beaten by one or more teams. However, our win target needs to be 29 more, according to http://lyle.smu.edu/~olinick/riot/american_league.html - that's the number above which it's theoretically possible that the other teams lose all their games and we finish on top.

So strange. April, May and June, I watched games wondering only how the Twins would fall apart for another nine innings. But the last five weeks I expect them to find a way to win. This is fun. Hope they keep it up.

I did the math. They are actually on pace after tonight's win to go 64-98. Crept under 100 losses.
