Big circus in town in Tucson this week, and wouldn't you know it, a huge fire broke out.  It's been all over the news.

 

Apparently, it was in tents.

If I had to guess, he was waiting for a Cleveland batter to get himself out so Gibson could qualify for the win, because individual counting stats are, after all, the point of the game.

Would any manager in his right mind watch the Tim Wakefield fastball Gibson is lobbing up there and, without knowing the inning, score, or number of outs, think "Yeah, Gibby's good to go".

For some reason i thought 4 and 2/3rds inning qualified one...

and he'll show 92 on a nice 2-seamer once in a while but then goes right back to the 89-91 MPH sinker.

 

Ki-Gibson is a 4th starter, and very disapointing for what was supposed to be a top 10 worthy pick in the 2009 draft.

I swear, is there anything some fans DON'T blame Mauer for?  Watch it again, if you can. Even if he fields that ball cleanly, it's likely a single.  He was deep and far right. Who of all our guys who plays 1st else even comes close to making that play? No one.

 

In any event, it's Gibson's horrible pitching and Mollie's ineptitude that allowed all that to happen, not a play that wasn't even scored an error on a ball that took a bad hop AND that would have likely been a hit if he fielded it cleanly anyway.
