Okay ... we had tomorrow's thread up already and nothing for tonight. Due to some confusion all around, I hid tomorrow's temporarily ... so ... this is the emergency thread for tonight in case it's needed. No word if the game will be postponed, so far it's only in delay.

 

Okay ... things to think about in the meantime ...

 

1. Nunez, our sole All-Star representative. If they had to choose just one, I guess he'd be it. Congratulations, Eduardo!

 

2. Rain ... I love the rain. And I even love thunderstorms and watching the lightning ... it's like nature's fireworks display. So incredible! Unless it strikes a tall tree outside your home. That crack of lightning is LOUD!!! It's an explosion! Wow.

 

3. I got nothing else, so ... that's all for now.

I was wondering where the game thread was... It's interesting that Kepler is the lone lefty batter facing the lefty starter. What's going on with Mauer that he isn't playing? Is Molitor finally relegating him to the bench where he belongs?

I owe Chitown some bacon, having saved mine...

 

I remembered at about 3 or 4pm i had an intro to write, but got distracted and one thing lead to another...

You didn't let anyone down, Sample ... you have a life, you are human ... and since this game is likely not to be played today, you can save your intro for another day. (I was going to say rainy day, but for baseball games, that phrase doesn't work so well.)

 

And spinowner has a thread ready for tomorrow ... I might have to turn it into a double-header, thread, however ... so we'll see.

I think an early version of wizard of oz had Dorthy following the pork futures road.

 

But i could be wrong.

 

That is often what happens when i try to be funny.

 

How long until we know it is postponed?

 

Anyway, my theory for tonight's weather is this is what happens when one forgets to write a game thread intro...

A woman I once dated liked bacon and peanut butter together so she tried substituting bacon grease for butter in a peanut butter cookie recipe. She took one bite, I took none and the rest of the batch went in the trash. Both ick and ish.

I'm not surprised. Every chef knows when you substitute for butter you must use twice the quantity of bacon grease to have it come out right.
