It's a decision we make based on not only what's good for the site but also what we *want* to read.

There's a forum thread that was titled "the bullpen sucks". We changed the name but the content is still there. Unhappiness is fine but bitching and moaning about every pitch, at-bat, and in-game move is boring and frankly, it's Internet masturbation. The only person receiving gratification from the post is the poster. It's that simple.

Misery loves company. I'm a twins fan living in Pennsylvania. No one within 50 miles of me cares one ounce about my twins complaints. I get it, we all want to read happy thoughts, but threats of suspension towards unhappy fans is a bit much. This is a nice site and forum, but some would argue the kumbaya stuff is equally annoying when you've lost every game played so far.

Hey look, a home run for kc.

I like Arcia personally. I think his attitude is a breath of fresh air on this team. At least he shows that he's upset when he lets his team down and strikes out with runner on and two outs. I'm tired of this attitude where it doesn't seem like half the team even cares when they strike out.

I can get on board with that. I still don't like his approach at the plate, but I do wish we had a few more feisty players on this team

I don't think it is necessary to post nothing but happy thoughts, but every time something negative happens, we don't need a TR sucks, Bullpen sucks, life sucks, etc.

Cockiness only works when you are backing it up with production on the field.  Arcia seem a bit more businesslike so far. Until the production picks up, I hope he controls the swagger.

Thru the first 3 innings, Tommy showed how you can be extremely effective throwing with lower velocity.  He was keeping the ball down and most importantly getting ahead of hitters.  He fell behind Moose before eventually giving up the HR (on a good pitch) and then tossed a meatball to Cain.

It's not only about happy thoughts, it's more of a fine line than that. Just read my posts any time Casey Fien comes into a game.

But I don't complain about *every* move and I don't rail on the front office in the middle of a game thread.

We only accept bag's of baseballs around here

Need the hammers to build a new baseball team.

Well, to each his own I guess. The FO constructs the team, the manager makes in game decisions. When the team is playing horrendously, those folks will get heat. Doing it all the time is excessive and warrants warnings and suspensions, but these are rough times for the fans.

Hey, chill. Game threads are a special place where Twins fans head collectively at the end of their day to relax and have fun, not bicker about whether the Twins suck or not (we're all agreed on that topic anyway, right?) or whether complaining should be allowed. Here's an excerpt from the comment policy for this site:

"We believe the daily game threads during the season should be a little more relaxed than the normal thread. Think of sitting in the left-field bleachers with a few friends and acquaintances - people have a tendency to just chat and crack jokes during boring games or down times, and that's okay - we want you to stick around, even if you really have nothing to say. Deep discussions and extended back-and-forths may get made fun of here. Civility is still the rule, but a little more is tolerated. Okay: short posts, off-topic conversation, PG-rated joking with one another. Not Okay: hurtful posts, blatant rule violations, or being a grouch."

Look at it this way-

the Twins embarked on a road trip a few days ago, the first three against a very good O's team (IMO) and now against the reigning champs. If this were mid-July, nobody would bat an eye at a 4 game losing streak over that span of games. Heck, the Royals had two 4 game losing streaks last year, and one 5 game losing streak. The season is long, there will be ebbs and flows.

Thank you. Could not have said it better myself. The beer is cold, baseball is on, life doesn't suck.

You know, history records that the Scots clans of old, when not fighting other clans, fought among themselves.

Nowadays, it seems to be Twins fans.

Fortunately, no claymores are involved.
