John Bonnes Site Manager Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Beat Vegas to win a Harry’s Razor starter kit! What the hell just happened? Despite enormous changes, the A's continued the 2015 season the way they left the 2014 season - by winning far fewer games than a team with a decent run differential should. They finished with only 68 wins, though their run differential said they should've been closer to 77. Billy Beane wheeled and dealed this offseason, so nobody knows what to expect.Vegas’ Line: 75.5 wins What The Line Is Saying"I don't know exactly what they're doing over there, but I know I don't trust them." They’ll Beat Vegas If…Only one team in the AL West is going to finish with less than 75.5 wins. If the Mariners or Angels melt down, Oakland will clear the 76 wins they need to beat Vegas. If you beat Vegas, you can win a free Harry’s Razor starter set. Just leave a comment with your choice of the “Over” or” Under” and your reasoning. At the end of the season, for each team, we’ll randomly pick one of the winning predictions for a free Truman Razor set. They’ll Lose To Vegas If…If they're the worst team in the AL West, they're not going to hit that number…. I’ll Bet The….UNDER….and they look like the worst team in the AL West. Plus, if Beane can sell any pieces for anything of value at the trade deadline, he'll certainly do it. Now it’s your turn. Give us your prediction in the comment section (you’ll need to register first) and you’re automatically entered. We’ll be giving out a free Harry’s Razor Truman Set to one of the winning correct predictions for each team, so we’ll be give away 15 sets of razors! Or prior to 4/5/16, you can also enter a prediction for any of the previous teams we’ve covered. biggentleben Verified Member Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Definitely under here. Beane can do a lot with a little, but there's very little here. That said, I like what they're doing with rebuilding their farm system, though the Khris Davis trade made very little sense for that purpose.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Under. They should be one of the worst teams in the AL, and I think this is the year they trade away Sonny Gray.
tobi0040 Verified Member Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Smart organizations tend to defy expectations. They didn't last year obviously, but they can next year. They were 14th last year in runs and they usually have 1-2 players emerge from the last seasons trade. This year it could be Sean Manaea. He had video game numbers in AA last year and is turning heads this spring.
David Zeller Verified Member Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 UNDER Sonny Gray drags them to 72-74 wins but still worst team in the AL
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Too far away from the mean to not take the over.
Jrfabian6 Verified Member Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 UNDER. They will win more games this year but fall just short. Few years away yet.
Wookiee of the Year Verified Member Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 It looks to me like they're actually rebuilding this year, so: Under.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Under. I think they jettison pieces in July and finish the season in full rebuild.
tobi0040 Verified Member Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 On a side note, if they are interested in moving Sonny Gray and he would sign a 4-5 year Gio Gonzalez type deal, we should seriously consider it. We have a ton of pieces in AA/AAA. Depending on how things shake out between here and July, we could have excess bodies at positions. Vanimal46 and Mike Sixel 2
Scooter262 Verified Member Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Under. Billy Beane may be a genius, but this team just doesn't look that good.scooter262@yahoo.com
pbrezeasap Provisional Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I'd like to pick over because almost everyone else is picking under, but I just can't. UNDER
