Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 The Twins bus just left for Bradenton where they'll take on the Pirates. Here is the Twins lineup, with Tommy Milone on the mound.
Old Twins Cap Verified Member Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 So, yesterday, for a while at least, Joe Mauer was listed as hitting a 2-run homer in the 8th to win it for the Twins. I checked a bunch of different box scores and they all read the same: Mauer 2 for 5 with 3 rbis and a run scored. I thought it funny because looking at his numbers this spring just before that at bat, I was going to leave a comment to the effect: "Anyone else concerned about Joe Mauer?" Come to find out the HR was hit by Carlos Quentin who replaced Mauer at 1st Base. So, maybe the question should stand: Anyone else concerned about Joe Mauer at this point?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 POST-PONED - RAIN.At least it isn't snow... The hyphen begs the question (at least to my peculiar sensibilities) what would pre-poned mean? "We can't do that thing then for some reason, so we will do it earlier?" Does this happen? Is it common enough in some context that it could be used? If so, do they have an alternative word already? Or does it just fall under the umbrella of the term "rescheduled?" Sorry about that. Don't mind me. Carry on.
