USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 My guess is TR was being honest when he said he wanted to add, not subtract. He feels the Twins are better with Plouffe at third and Sano in right. Hence, he wasn't shopped. I think people are going to extraordinary lengths to find convoluted reasons for something that is simple and has been stated by the GM. Platoon and howieramone2 2
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Another quote in the STrib today that he was never on the market. You could read that as TR read the market beforehand or that he just held on to Plouffe for loyalty, but can we please just all accept that Plouffe was never shopped? It's been made as plainly clear as humanly possible.I don't know if Plouffe was shopped or not, but I'd also bet that Ryan would have said Hicks wasn't shopped right up until the final signature was placed on his trade paperwork.
Platoon Verified Member Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 In the last two days the Trib has carried 3 or 4 pieces trying to comfort the afflicted that the "Sano Experiment" will succeed. They even made some comparisons: Killebrew to LF, Carew to 1B etc. the only relative comp was Cuddyer to RF, and that included the notation that it took a couple years for the transition to "succeed"! But by far my favorite was including Plouffes adventures out on the grass. Not exactly a calming effect for me. And to show they were desperate for examples they included Puckett from CF to RF.

I don't think so. At least from my experience they stay pretty mum about that stuff. They were trumpeting the "Plouffe is not for sale" sign as soon as was humanly possible and haven't wavered from it.
