The same company owns both the Jays and the TV channel, so I'm not sure that rights fee is all that accurate.

It's not, Rogers owns both the Jays and Sportsnet, who broadcasts the games. Rogers does disclose what Rogers pays to Rogers for broadcasting rights. The only thing they are required to do by the league is pay "market rates", whatever that means.

 

The number is not a reflection of the size of the market.
