Vargas should have swung!!!

I know it was a strike, but it was low and it might have been DP and game over.

Bullpen did their part to blow it, but scoring two runs in 2 must win games doesn't help. This series feels awfully similar to the season opening series.

 

Oh well.

 

Hopefully enough changes are made so the twins can compete in 2016

I'll still watch tomorrow's game.

I might have it on in the background, lots of good football on tomorrow and a HUGE elimination race for NASCAR.

 

 

Also I probably will need to put a minute or two of FaceTime in with the signicant other and her family :)

Oh, I'm fine, goes with the territory of being a dedicated fan. In my case I have nobody to blame but myself however.

The bats just went into "Twins postseason mode" a little too early this year.

 

I guess the season did run later than usual, they must have been looking at the calendar rather than the schedule.

Yeah, I do the thirty minute rule, allow yourself to be mad/dissapointed for 30 minutes then basically move on (note: you can still bitch about things after said 30 minutes though) of course some things like Vikings NFC championship games need a bit more than 30 minutes (30 years is closer to it)

 

I also just saw a deranged woman try to stab a guy in penn station with a fork, all because he had the audacity to be "Muslim", so it's a quick reminder there are very real problems going on and that the twins missing the opportunity to get destroyed in the wild card against the Yankees isn't a huge deal.

 

So hey, **** it, it was at least a fun month of baseball. Twins better have their eye on winning 90 next year though.

On a superficial note from the post-game -- it is nice to see that Pete Rose can still fit into his dress shirt from 1990 (or from a star trek convention)  and lived a healthy life style that he still has his very natural looking hair color from 1970.

I think there's good reason to be hopeful about next season, and I think the changes that will make the biggest impact will come from within in the form of improvement in our younger players. That's not to say we can't look to trades and/or free agency but those options would be to address focal issues. To me the big picture is rosy.

Twins' record in May: 20-7. Twins' record the rest of the season: 63-71.

Twins' record in June: 11-17. Twins' record the rest of the season: 72-61. An 87 or 88 win pace. Wild card for sure.
