sportsdiamond Provisional Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Thoughts on this for 2016: Mauer back behind home, Sano to 1st and Plouffe stays at 3rd Rumor has been swirling that Plouffe would get moved during the offseason to allow Sano a spot If Joe is gonna produce like he has he might as well be behind the plate. Would be an upgrade for the final 3 seasons of his contract.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Higher likelihood for Plouffe to move behind the plate than for Mauer.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Mauer is not ever going back behind the plate, ever. Period. Dot. Com.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Welcome to Twins Daily sportsdiamond, but you have much to learn if you're proposing Mauer to C, young grasshopper.

Even if in theory it might seem like the thing to do, it is just never, ever, gonna happen. Most likely is Plouffe being moved at some point ... might not be in the off-season, but that seems to be the more likely scenario. But who knows?
