Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 No fancy game articles for this series. I'm away from a computer for the weekend. If somebody could post the lineups for me, that'd be peachy.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Revere CF, Mastroianni RF, Mauer DH, Willingham LF, Morneau 1B, Plouffe 3B, Dozier SS, Butera C, Casilla 2B & Liriano
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 The Rangers have slotted in Martin Perez to pitch instead of Yu Darvish. Perez had a good last start, but his ERA is 9.00. Let's hope that the Twins can score early and often.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Revere CF, Mastroianni RF, Mauer DH, Willingham LF, Morneau 1B, Plouffe 3B, Dozier SS, Butera C, Casilla 2B & LirianoNo Span again. Is he gone during the AS break?
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Good scouting by the Rangers -- walk Willingham to get to Morneau. Justin needs some days off -- he seems to have virtually zero chances of hitting a southpaw.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 CBS shows that Mauer is already out of the game. Is he injured?
minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Why can't Frankie pitch 9 innings like this every game.
minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 The ranger hitters look overmatched by frankie. (one of the best if not the best hitting teams in the AL and they don't look like they have a chance against him). I don't want to jinx him, but then it just changes in an instant.
snepp Verified Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Looks like that probably could/should have been the 3rd out, pretty passive fielding.
minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Nice to Morneau get a hit against a lefty. it wasn't a rocket, but a hit is a hit. He worked hard that at bat and got an RBI out of it.
snepp Verified Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Another one that Cruz should have caught. And damn, Plouffsie just missed a home run.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I am glad that Morneau got a hit and an RBI. Maybe he is getting it together.

And damn, Plouffsie just missed a home run.I know Cruz has had some hamstring issues in the past but he was one of the laziest outfielders I've ever seen. And it's not just tonight or the World Series non-play either. He reminds me of Juan Rivera.

GCTF Verified Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Drooooooooooooooo!!!Missed that. I'll just assume everyone on the field fell down at the same time.
minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 hate to see bennie get HBP. I don't know if I could ever get over being hit in the face by a pitch, even if it was more than a year ago.
minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Cruz didn't look lazy on that play in the corner.

minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Drew needs to show us why he is Frankie's catcher and calm him down.Get him through the fourth.
minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 What awful fielding by the Rangers tonight. first napoli and now hamilton.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 What awful fielding by the Rangers tonight. first napoli and now hamilton. And now it appears that Hamilton may have re-injured his back.
minn55441 Provisional Member Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I am willing to have Drew's bat in the lineup every 5 games as long as he can get Frankie through 7 or 8 innings every game. Do you think that Drew has a calming affect on Frankie? Would Joe or Ryan have had as much success? It's obvious to everyone that it is a mental thing when things go wrong for him (guys on base). If all it takes is to look in and see Drew's face, that is a small price to pay in order to get a quality start out of Liriano.

He is also batting .246, which is not terrible for a backup catcher.
