My way to fix the offense

Truthfully, I think this will probably be a slight downgrade this season but pay huge dividends in 2016 and on.  Plouffe and Dozier were both SS coming up, though both got moved off of their positions b/c their defense wasn't good.  Both were pretty bad at their new positions for some time, but both came around.  The skillset at 2B translates a bit better to SS, and I think Dozier would benefit even more when he's a free agent in four years given that his offense and defense at 2nd are elite as it is right now.  My plan:

1)  Move Dozier back to SS.  I think there's a small learning curve and I think he goes from being an elite defender to an above average defender.

2)  Move Plouffe to 2nd.  He hasn't played there much, and I think his learning curve would be higher, but I'd put up with it.

3)  Call up Sano.  I don't think he hits a ton better than Escobar in 2015 (though I suspect he'll have a few more home runs), but that gets him in the lineup here.

4)  Leave the OF in tact for now.  I like the defense out there.  I suspect Rosario will eventually need to go back down, but you can cross that bridge when it happens.

This allows for guys like Santana, Walker, Kepler, Arcia, and Polanco to essentially force their way up.  You can trade off whomever becomes replaceable as those guys mature.

Are you sure you're a Twins fan? Sounds like you might be a KC or Detroit fan. You want the Twins to sabotage their infield defense by playing everybody out of position. It took Plouffe 2 years to learn 3B enough to be considered good. Dozier took a trip to the minors to go from SS to 2B because his play at SS was not good. Not only would everybody need to learn a new position, but you would be potentially affecting their offensive production if they take their defensive struggles of learning a new position to the plate with them.

If you HAVE to have Sano in the major leagues right now, you put him at DH or the outfield. You do not move everyone out of position. It is the rookie's job to earn his way onto the team. If his projected position is not available then he must make do with whatever position is available. Besides, there have not been any reports that Sano has mastered or even learned the 3B position to at least play as well as Plouffe has been playing.

I am not sure how to respond because I doubt this is serious.

The Twins are giving up far fewer runs this year in thanks to a solid defense around the diamond that they have t seen this decade. It has had a huge impact on pitching performance. It isn't just the outfield. We have already seen the damage when you play Nishioka, Plouffe or even Dozier at A time the outfield had Revere and Span covering a lot of ground.

There is no way the above suggested infield can perform at anything above an awful level. Outs would become hits. Double plays would not be turned. Innings would be prolonged. Starters will exit short of 6 innings. The bullpen will be overworked. The Twins would score a few more runs.

Dozier did not switch over to second until winter ball and IMHO his adjustment was nearly seamless. I think he's too good at second to consider moving. Plouffe is best at third.

It was just for fun.  In all seriousness, I'd think about moving Dozier to short and possibly Rosario to 2nd (where he played the last few years) if there was an OF pushing him, but there's not.
