ashbury Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Same old Hicks. Flailing at pitches in the dirt. Never got a fastball, because he never proved that the pitcher needed to throw one. Just one at bat, but I expected a little better. Gibby 1
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I didn't see it (nor am i Halsey) but might it have been one of those "hit and run, and wait at second to see if it is a double or a fly out"?I think you're right, but it still doesn't speak well of his speed to not get home on a double with a head start. He did round third but got held up by the coach at the last second, and a faster runner would likely have been sent. It's really just my one gripe about Plouffe... he is SLOW.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Gibson strands another runner in scoring position. Have both teams stranded a runner at second and a runner at third now?

I was considered slow in baseball, but fast in football. I think I needed someone chasing me. Edited May 12, 2015 by Gibby ashbury, Riverbrian, glunn and 1 other 4
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 RB tipped us off to expect good SS play from Iglesias, and he erased Santana with a nice play up the middle. Largely positioning, but it still had the earmarks of a clean single, and suddenly t'weren't. Riverbrian 1
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 My baby girl tied up her championship series today. One more match, and I get her home in time for my wife's birthday on Sunday. ashbury, glunn, Riverbrian and 1 other 4
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Hunter having a little fun after Simon throws him a floater on 0-0. Not quite as much fun when he pops up foul to the catcher on a similar pitch 1-1. Score's 0-0 after two and a half. Your Circus Boy Update. glunn 1

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I suppose Plouffe's foot speed had something to do with it, but I'm going to lay the big share of the blame there on the following three hitters, not Plouffe. Riverbrian, ashbury, Bark's Lounge and 2 others 5

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 J.D. Martinez sure seems to be a decent cheap pickup. To me... He's one example of trying not to run out of options. If he indeed ran out of options with the Astro's.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I don't think the Right Fielder's identity made much difference on that one. Bark's Lounge, ashbury and Riverbrian 3
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 You know Brian, I am putting the J.D. Martinez Homer on you. He is still pissed from you talking Shiznit to him from the Target Field Left Field Bleachers last August! glunn and Riverbrian 2
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I don't think the Right Fielder's identity made much difference on that one.No. Every single ball hit to the outfield, even to LF, or into the RF foul stands, is Torii's fault if the batter's not retired. USAFChief and Riverbrian 2
