I'd bet a lot of money that a PED or two was used to drop that weight (didn't Vargas get caught using something like that?) but I hope he gets his stuff together. His ice cream incident was pretty embarrassing and it would be nice if that wasn't how people end up remembering him.

Sometimes, just good old fashion hard work and sensible eating can do the trick.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I just lost 30 pounds and would have no idea where to find a PED. These young guys should be able to do it if they have any will power. That being said, yes, it's very hard not to believe that professional athletes who drop weight or put on muscle aren't using PED's these days. Too many bad eggs forfieted the benefit of the doubt for anyone doing stuff clearn.

A 6 foot, 200 lb guy might have a hard time losing 40. A 6 foot, 280 lb guy might find it much easier to lose 40 or more if he put forth decent effort.

Reading the seattle.pi website, he was already caught doing PED's and the ice cream thing is what has motivated him to loss the weight.

(Un)fortunately for Montero he fit into the later category. Also I found it's much easier to give up fast food if you have to come home and answer to the wife.
