bird Verified Member Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I disagree. See Diehard's excellent Post #28, he provides many of the reasons why he is:I re-read Diehard's excellent Post #28 and fail to see that he provided one single reason why Boyd was a bad pick. I mean, Holy Mickey Lolich, what am I missing? Is the 6'2" Boyd a bad choice because Diehart is 5'8"?

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I liked the Biyd pick at the time. Still do. You aren't going to find an ace by drafting soft-tossing, high contact college pitchers. I'm less disappointed with a high upside bust like Boyd than I am with a low upside bust like Wimmers. Maybe someone can clarify, but to me it depends on what he got busted on. If I recall, getting busted for Adderal in season is a PED violation while getting busted in the off season is a drug of abuse violation. To Thrylos' point, might this have been a diet pill? Are they categorized similarly? If so, it was stupid of him to use, but at least shows he might be making an attempt at being healthy and staying in shape.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 yeah, adderal can go both ways. It's a drug of abuse by some, but it's also a PED... Kind of like Speed though not nearly as dangerous.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 It is a PED, no doubt about that. Athletes take Aderall to enhance performance.
