Otwins Verified Member Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Enjoyed the podcast. The shorter format is a good idea. Keeps it moving. I would enjoy a show recapping the new coaching staff when they all are named. I think they are off to an excellent start there. I am thinking they may do the same with the pitching coach and the bullpen coach- that is be sure one of them is bilingual.

ashbury Verified Member Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Love the 30-minute format. My ADD doesn't permit me to sit through 60 or 90 minutes of joshing around.
TRex Provisional Member Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 My ADD must be different, because I liked the longer format... But any prospect talk is better than NO prospect talk.
Steven Buhr Verified Member Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't one main benefit of a podcast that you don't have to worry about time constraints? It's not like you have to fill 90 minutes or end up with a bunch of dead air like you would with a commercial radio program. I thought 30 minutes worked well for the amount of material there was to cover this time. Maybe next time it will require 45 minutes. Maybe not much is happening and you can rip through it in 20. Anything that runs over an hour, I typically have to break down to listen in multiple sittings and that runs a pretty good chance of me not getting around to ever going back to the last segment.
shs_59 Provisional Member Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 weather its 20 minutes long or an hour and 45 minutes long. I always listen to the entire thing. Maybe in 2 segments but I always find time. love the podcasts'

This is in reference to Duensing, Swarzak or Nunez?I think the only guys you can't remove/replace on the 40-man during the winter are the prospects you add to the 40-man in November (for Rule 5 purposes). So you can't add a bunch of guys to protect them from the Rule 5 draft, then drop them immediately afterward. Other 40-man guys can be dropped and replaced at any time.
