I think Gibson will continue to improve. TJ certainly hurt his development, but he is now getting to the stage in his career that he understands what it takes to be a MLer. He will justify his draft position, IMHO.

The article on Hughes and his walk rate I found amusing. Some pitchers rtegressed to the mean, some did not while others were injured. They call that analysis? Label them all control pitchers because they had few walks? Does Carl Pavano gave up few walks. Did he have similar pitching style to Hughes? How about trying to figure out why some pitchers "regressed" and others did not.

Because the litany of factors that go into such deviations is enormous and likely not trending towards a pattern.  All this article did was put into context how hard it is for pitchers to repeat a fantastic season and put some hard data on those trends.

A theme the author made very clear they were going for right from the beginning by only claiming to analyze past trends as a predictor, not claiming to be Nostradomus.

Interesting to note on the Phil Hughes article how many of those pitchers came through the Twins system - I think the Bob Tewksbury year was when he was a Twin, Silva, Rick Reed, Pavano, Radke, and Hughes of course...

It's one thing that I won't bash Rick Anderson for - he oversaw a lot of pitchers that reduced their walk rate.
