Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 AS LONG AS WE DON'T SAY DOUGIE BASEBALL!!!!!!! I guess that is one of my pet peeves...... Haha!! I can agree with that one too. Ha!
Jerr Verified Member Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I liked the rant, but spelling mistakes???I'm more peeved that some go into work "early" and I assume start threads on TD I go to work, to work

DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I consider myself to be a highly intelligent person, and a bit of a grammar monitor at times. But I know that at times spell correct and an IPad keyboard, where I usually blog from, cause consternation. I also get so wrapped up in posting that I sometimes forget to proof read properly. But you're correct that we should be able to spell Hermie and Dougie correctly, amongst others. (Snicker) I will guiltily admit to occasional mental lapses that lead me to look up a roster so I don't embarrass myself needlessly. I wonder though, if there shouldn't be an after 9:00, 3 beer rule allowance after a long work day tolerance policy put in place? LOL
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 On a serious note, I have to say I totally agree with dropping the whole "4 losing seasons" rhetoric. Not only did the Twins not set out to do so, but how many times do we have to repeat that the 2011 was a seeming aberration following an excellent 2010 season? Or that 2012 may have been a misguided attempt of hope to rebound? Consider the futility of the Royals and Astros and a few other teams for the past 10-20 seasons when you want to complain about 4 poor seasons.
The Wise One Verified Member Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 A few pet peeves. Ageism, there are assuptions made based on what age a person is. Maddon is the latest example Age may be a general indicator of things, might not mean as much with an individual. The convoluted no win situations that people come up with. There are things like spending scenarios. A real good oneis when players have betterseasons elsewhere than they did with the Twins years and multiple systems after being with the Twins as a sign how bad the Twins are at anything. And of course the every popular minor league players being blocked. If you have to say you are sarcastic, you are probably closer to hateful whining.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I forgot appeal to authority. Hate that one too.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 My biggest pet peave: re-sign vs. resign. 99% of the time its clear from context but still, they are literally the opposite thing from each other.
