MLB said it was going to be a pitching battle... But I almost expect the opposite. Probably over 5 runs each even though Parker hasn't been bad at all. I think we can tag him for some runs early.

This should be a good game; except for Jamey Carroll, nobody on either team has faced the opposite pitcher tonight. Carroll has two hits off of Parker.

The Nationals have accepted Erik Komatsu back.

The 24-year-old outfielder was snatched up by the Cardinals in December's Rule 5 Draft but only lasted a month with St. Louis. Komatsu then moved on to the Twins, where he was designated for assignment after three weeks. He'll head to Triple-A Syracuse.

Another spot on the 40-man roster? Personally, I didn't think Mostroianni had any more to offer than Komatsu, but I guess neither was essential. I guess Revere is now the regular RF or at least the LH platoon partner.

Anybody know what's up with the ballcaps? Are the Twins changing back to the "M" logo? I personally liked the "TC" logo - hearkens back to my childhood days at the old Met.

Twins need to put up 3-4 runs so that DeVries can settle down and not be afraid to throw strikes.

Good point. A few runs might reduce the pressure that he feels in his second start.

70 pitches in 3 innings. DeVries will be lucky to make it to the 5th inning.

Yesterday was the "Stars and Stripes" camo print inside the "M" for Memorial Day. I presume the "M" cap was chosen because the camo would show better because the T is the only thing in camo in the "TC" cap. The pitcher, I know, picks the jersey top, so by extension, I presume, they pick the cap. Since De Vries grew up in Eden Prairie and grew up with the "M" hat and has fond memories of it, he went that direction in his home debut and busted it out for the first time, I believe, since 2009.

Boy, do I feel old now:). I remember when Harmon was belting them out in Bloomington and the Metrodome was just an idea fighting for legislative approval (yes, it was just as hard to get a stadium back then). I also remember when the dome opened how neat we all thought it was - boy, did that wear off quickly.

Well I was WAY off! But I'm glad. Nothing wrong with a pitching battle (as long as we sneak out the win).

OK, moment of truth - does DeVries go out for the 6th? He's at 92 pitches now, and they sent him out for the 6th last time and it turned out to be a mistake, but he's pitched better the last couple of innings... Do you gamble and try to save the bullpen for Liriano tomorrow?

Manship is in, there's your answer

How long has it been since the Twins had a walk-off HR? I am assuming it was Thome against the Sox in August of 2010. I am going out on a limb and putting some positive mojo out there tonight. Either Plouffe of Span hits a walk-off HR.

Let's hope you are prophetic -- Plouffe up with two men on.

Is the object to ensure Perkins' arm falls off by the AS break?

Not many choices tonight and game is too close for Butera to pitch.

Maybe Ben Revere should work on his bunting.

That was not a major league bunt attempt.

We should consider ourselves lucky that Mauer only tapped into a FC, rather than his 13th GIDP of the season.
