Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ok, I know I'm old but I still don't like this shiny shoe thing going on. Ok, that made me laugh.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Let's leave politics out of this. Blinding you with Science, instead.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Blinding you with Science, instead. It's like anything goes now, so why not.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Blinding you with Science, instead. Not a Thomas Dolby fan myself.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Wow, that stretch. Sorta ouch.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Wow, that stretch. Sorta ouch. Kind of thought it was a bit dramatic, that's the kind of thing you could regret.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Not swinging at 3-0 pitches for decades at a time? Or...salary? Nope, always taking on 1st pitch.

Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Poetry in motion, like Trout digging for the triple, or Jetes channeling Jeter... Fish related players are always great. If I was starting out, I'd be Dan Walleye.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I want to see another Miggy blast! Back at the end of August, and a ton of games after that. Unless M & M arrive before then.... http://alifewastedonjerry.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/big-zoltar.jpg
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Fish related players are always great. If I was starting out, I'd be Dan Walleye. Are you ok with coming off the bench initially? Trout and Carp are penciled in as starters in the fishfield, with Salmon racing to get back into shape. SS Minnow is serving a long suspension, but be ready. PS. Missed how volleyball turned out. Weird to ask for update repeat?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Will the Twins earn World Series home field advantage from this... errr, contest? Nee to know so that I can adjust outrage over KF being pulled after zero-run, 2-K first. Grrr, or whatever.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Stirring rendition of Jeter bless America..... Ok, I'm done.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Do we see Perk at the top of the 9th?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 And pitching to Suzuki?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ok, on plane, 10-1 I miss Perkins pitching when they turn tvs off to do safety sermon in both languages, of which the French version takes 45 minutes longer. Then try to sell me ppv movies for $57 each, in both languages. Bi-lingualism, gotta love it.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ok g'night all, being forced to turn off cell in case it causes the plane to crash. Been fun.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Geez, that was a weird report re Wainwright.

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 That was a good AS game. I'm in the minority, but the fawning over Jeter didn't bother me. He's been one of the faces of the game for a long time, with never a hint of scandal, and he deserves some recognition. Lots of praise for Target Field, MSP looked great on TV, the crowd was into it. Hats off to Ferrell for getting the two Twins in to finish it. And now no baseball for a couple days. That part sucks, of course.

He's been one of the faces of the game for a long time, with never a hint of scandal, and he deserves some recognition. It bothered me, but in much the same way a that visit to the dentist does. It's unpleasant and an inconvenience, but it's better than the alternative. His defensive prowess was overstated in his 30's, but for fewer years than his offense was understated. He spent his entire career in a media/fan crucible that illuminates some stars and immolates others. And as USC's good call alluded to, his career overlapped a good share of RoidGate, minus the accusations. And the T-birds flew over the right stadium:p.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Just got back from the game. It probably wasn't on TV, but Perkins' face was on the jumbotrons after the second out of the ninth inning. The mixture of awe, happiness, and childlike wonder written on his face was easily the best part of the entire game. I could hear his inner monologue: "This is actually happening. This is real life. Should I pinch myself? ..." Amazing.
kydoty Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I still wish we hadn't given away Hardy for a bag of stale peanuts. (no offense intended to stale peanuts) In the end, Bill Smith traded Johan Santana for Jim Hoey. Think about that.
Fatt Crapps Provisional Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 In the end, Bill Smith traded Johan Santana for Jim Hoey. Think about that. I'd rather not.
