JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 So happy to see the turnaround in Neshek's baseball fortunes and to see him and his wife recovering from the loss of their first child. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2014/06/09/pat-neshek-cardinals-son/10261589/ Will never forget the sizzle of 2007. "Sidearm slinging, we are singing"Of course, Nathan is having problem closing the door.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 JB thanks so much for sharing this. Indeed it is awesome to see so many things go so well for Pat after things went so poorly for him and his family.

Old Twins Cap Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Prolly the last MLB player that I can say I had as a student in high school. Nice kid, nice family, and, at one time, was a hell of a good pitcher. You go Pat!
pierre75275 Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I used to work at an airport in the midwest...it was a smaller airport. we were having a slow day and I was talking to somebody about this kid the Twins had in AAA. He was striking out everybody. I couldnt wait to watch him pitch for the twins in the bigs. His name was Pat Neshek. One of the passengers flying out that day was watching and listening. He asked if i knew Pat or was friends with him. I said no, i didnt know him but I had noticed his stat lines in AA and AAA. And then just to be a smart alec i asked the guy if he knew Pat. The guy smiled. "He is my son in law. Do you want an autographed picture? I admitted that I did and he gave me an 8x10. I still have it. Its an awesome pic side angle from his throwing side showing the whip action Pat gets when he throws. His hand is actually about 120 degrees back of his elbow.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 He is pitching as well as he has ever pitched in his career, and it's great to see.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Great guy and great pitcher and another one to add to the list of the mistreated pitchers by the Twins and their management/medical stuff... Glad he is doing well both professionally and (more important) personally...
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Pat went out of his way to sign a ball for my nephew at one point and then took the ball to the pen for all the guys to sign. Nothing I've seen of him outside of that did anything but reinforce that's the kind of guy he is: down to earth and just a damn good guy. So happy he's had continued success.
